Tara Stukenholtz Nanninga, MPT
Tara grew up on a family farm near Peru, Nebraska while attending Auburn Public Schools. Upon graduation, she pursued a science degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO and then the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
She transitioned to the University of Nebraska Medical Center where she received a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 1995. Tara’s first year of physical therapy practice was with Jennie Edmundson Hospital and outpatient clinics in Council Bluffs, IA. Then, while starting her family with husband, Rod, she worked for Sundance Rehabilitation where she provided care for long term and short term nursing home residents. Tara and her family moved back home to Southeast Nebraska in 1998 where she practiced physical therapy for 22 years in the towns of Auburn, Tecumseh, Pawnee City, Falls City and Humboldt. During this time, Tara attained specialty training in postural restoration, dry needling, Graston technique, LSVT Big, and custom made orthotics.
Tara joined Husker Rehab in 2020 where she loves being a community-minded therapist and working with all patient populations. When not working, Tara enjoys playing French horn in the Southeast Nebraska Community Band, playing trumpet in her church praise band, running, skiing, gardening, and being outdoors. Tara and Rod now have 3 grown children and love to spend their extra time remodeling their cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks.
