Occupational Therapy Month: Supporting Function, Recovery, and Independence

April is Occupational Therapy Month, a time to highlight the vital role occupational therapy plays in helping individuals restore function, reduce pain, and return to meaningful daily activities.

Occupational therapy is an allied health profession that uses individualized assessment and treatment to develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living and work. Through targeted, patient-centered care, occupational therapy improves quality of life and promotes long-term independence.

We would like to recognize our Occupational Therapist, Melissa Cromer, for her dedication and clinical expertise in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

At our Fairbury and Beatrice clinics, occupational therapy focuses on treating conditions of the elbow, hand, wrist, and fingers. Common diagnoses include carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, and post-surgical rehabilitation such as flexor tendon repair.

Occupational therapy also supports patients with neurological and movement-related conditions, including stroke (CVA), spinal cord injuries (SCI), and other movement disorders.

Each treatment plan is individualized to help patients decrease pain, improve function, prepare for surgery, or successfully recover following a procedure.

Occupational therapy plays a critical role in helping patients return to the activities that matter most. We are proud to provide these services to our communities in Fairbury and Beatrice.
